It still amazes me to find out that some people still do not have a Passport. Your Passport these days is as important as having a license of ID. Any international travel these days requires a Passport to get around. Even Mexico and Canada, out closest neighbors. The U.S. Passport is now equipped with and RFID device as of 2005. It sucks but I'd rather have a Passport and be able to leave in a hurry and be tracked than to not have one and be stuck here. Experience the world. Open yourself to other culture with a Passport. There are many options to get one. There are 24 hr Passport services and other Rush Passport Services for a special fee. The newest passport development is the ID Card Passport that will be specifically for North and South America. Stay tuned for that.

Hold on to your passport for dear life when abroad though. Depending on where you are, it can be tough to get another within about two weeks. South America and Canada aren't so difficult if you lose your US Passport. In any case, go to the nearest US Embassy and they will assist you with the replacement of your Passport.
